FAQ

How does the calculator handle leap years and birthdays on 29 February?

It counts the actual calendar days between the two dates, so leap years are included automatically. For someone born on 29 February, the calculator only ticks over a full year on 1 March in non-leap years.

Can I calculate age at a past or future date instead of today?

Yes. Set the "as of" date to any past or future calendar date and the result updates instantly. Useful for working out someone's age on a specific event date or a future milestone.

Why are the total months and (years times 12 plus months) sometimes different?

Total months is whole calendar months completed. Years times 12 plus months is the same value computed differently, so the two should match. If they look off by one, you're likely partway through a month and the day-of-month rollover hasn't happened yet.

Is my date of birth sent to a server?

No. The calculation happens locally on your device. Nothing is uploaded, logged, or stored anywhere outside the page.

What's the difference between this and an age-in-days counter?

This tool focuses on the calendar breakdown (years, months, days) that most official forms ask for. If you only want raw totals like 9,500 days or 230,000 hours, use the Age in Days and Hours tool instead.
