What is Timelapse Creator?

Timelapse Creator turns a sequence of photos into a timelapse video. Upload your photo series, pick a frame rate and resolution, and export as an MP4 video or animated GIF.

The tool accepts JPEG, PNG, and WebP photos sorted by filename or last-modified date, so you can pull a folder of intervalometer captures straight in. Output is your choice of H.264 MP4 (silent video, 720p / 1080p / 1440p / 4K) or animated GIF for chat threads and embeds. Duration is just frame count divided by output FPS: 600 photos at 30 fps gives a 20-second clip.

How to use

  1. Upload a series of photos taken at regular intervals (e.g., one per minute of a sunset or construction).
  2. Set the output frame rate (e.g., 24 or 30 fps) and resolution. Preview the timelapse before exporting.
  3. Export the timelapse as an MP4 video or animated GIF, ready to share on social media or embed in presentations.

When to use

  • Compressing a construction project shot every hour into a 30-second progress video.
  • Turning interval-mode photos from a DSLR into a sunset or skyline reel.
  • Showing a long bakery prep or makeup tutorial as a fast-cut intro clip.

Result

A nature photographer uploads 500 photos of a sunset taken every 10 seconds, sets 30 fps output at 1080p, and exports a 17-second timelapse video.

FAQ

How many photos do I need for a smooth timelapse?
For 24 fps output, plan on at least 240 photos for a 10-second clip. Below that the motion looks jumpy. 30 fps needs 300 frames for the same 10 seconds. Most photographers aim for at least 500 frames.
Why is my video so short compared to the time I spent shooting?
That's the point of a timelapse — eight hours shot at one frame per minute is 480 frames, and at 24 fps that's a 20-second video. To make it longer, lower the output frame rate or shoot at shorter intervals.
What should I do if my photos have different resolutions?
Set a fixed output resolution before exporting. Smaller frames will be upscaled with letterboxing where needed; larger frames will be downscaled. For best quality, batch-resize your photos to the same dimensions first.
Will the photos be uploaded to a server?
No. All encoding runs locally using a free in-page video engine. Your photos never leave your device, which matters for private locations, security footage, and personal projects.
Can I add music or sound to the timelapse?
The export is video-only. Once you download the MP4, drop it into any free video editor (CapCut, iMovie, DaVinci Resolve) and add a soundtrack there before publishing.
