What is Video Loop Creator?
Video Loop Creator repeats your video clip a chosen number of times and exports it as one continuous video file. Works well for looping backgrounds, GIF-like social posts, or extended ambient clips. Processing happens on your device with ffmpeg.wasm, no uploads needed.
The trim controls let you cut dead frames off either end so the loop point lands on a clean motion match, then the tool concatenates the segment with itself the chosen number of times. Loop by a fixed count or set a target length in seconds and let it work out how many copies you need. A playback speed control (0.5× to 2×) retimes the clip before it loops, so you can slow a busy shot or tighten a slow one. Switch the output between MP4 (with audio) and animated GIF for use on chat, email, or social posts. Boomerang mode plays each loop forward then backward, producing the ping-pong effect popular on Reels, and a one-click Mute audio toggle exports a silent loop without round-tripping through another editor.
How to use
- Upload a short video clip you want to loop (MP4, WebM, or MOV).
- Set the number of loops (2–50), or switch to duration mode and just type the total length you want. Trim the clip to the exact segment to repeat if needed.
- Click Create Loop to generate the looped video, then download the result.
When to use
- Making a 30-second ambient backdrop from a 3-second sky or water clip.
- Stretching a short product spin into a longer hero video for a landing page.
- Building loop-friendly clips for Instagram Reels or TikTok background layers.
Result
You have a 3-second ocean wave clip and need a 30-second ambient background for a presentation. Set loops to 10, and download a smooth 30-second video.
FAQ
- Will the loop point look jumpy where the clip repeats?
- Only if the start and end frames are visually different. Use the trim controls to land both ends on a similar frame, ideally one with low motion or a matching position, and the seam disappears.
- Does the output keep my original audio?
- Yes by default — the audio is repeated alongside the video, so a 3-second clip looped 10 times gives 30 seconds of audio. Flip the Mute audio toggle right inside the tool to strip the soundtrack before exporting, no separate edit needed.
- What's the maximum number of loops?
- Up to 50 per export. If you need more, loop the result again or trim the source first. Past about 5 minutes of total output, ffmpeg.wasm starts hitting memory pressure on lower-end devices.
- Why is processing slow for longer source clips?
- ffmpeg.wasm runs in a WebAssembly sandbox, which is roughly 2 to 3 times slower than native ffmpeg. A 10-second source looped 10 times processes faster than a 60-second source looped twice, even though both produce 120 seconds.
- Can I loop a video forever for a website background?
- For web playback, use the HTML5 video tag with the loop attribute instead. This tool is for cases where the file itself needs to be longer, like uploaded social posts or video editor inputs.
