What is Banner/Header Maker?

Banner/Header Maker creates banners sized for social media platforms. Pick preset dimensions for Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, or LinkedIn headers, add text, adjust colors, and export your design.

Six platform groups come preset: YouTube channel banner (2560×1440), Twitter/X header (1500×500), Facebook cover (820×312), LinkedIn banner (1584×396), Twitch profile (1200×480), and Custom. Pick a solid colour, a gradient (eight presets), or upload an image as the backdrop, then stack as many text layers as you need with full horizontal and vertical positioning, undo and redo every change, and export PNG, transparent PNG, JPEG, or every platform size at once as a ZIP.

How to use

  1. Select a platform preset or enter custom dimensions for your banner
  2. Add text, choose fonts, adjust colors, and position elements on the canvas
  3. Export your banner as a PNG, transparent PNG, JPEG, or download every platform size in one ZIP

When to use

  • Refreshing a YouTube channel banner with a new tagline and matching brand colours.
  • Creating an event-day Twitter header announcing a product launch or a webinar.
  • Designing a LinkedIn cover that introduces yourself with role, location, and a short pitch.

FAQ

Will the platform crop my banner once I upload it?
Yes. YouTube crops to about 1546×423 on desktop and to a much narrower strip on mobile, Twitter and LinkedIn show smaller live areas than the full upload. Keep important text within the centre 60% of the canvas.
Why are the YouTube channel banner dimensions so much larger than what appears on screen?
YouTube uses one upload and renders it differently across TV, desktop, tablet, and phone. The 2560×1440 master gives every device a sharp version. Keep the channel name in the safe zone (about 1235×338 centred) so it shows on every layout.
Can I add an image behind my text instead of a colour or gradient?
Yes. Switch the background mode to Image and upload a photo. The image scales to cover the canvas. For best legibility, choose a photo with a low-contrast area where the text sits, or add a semi-transparent text colour.
What output format should I use for my banner?
PNG keeps text crisp and supports transparency, so it suits banners with solid colour or hard-edged graphics. JPEG produces a smaller file for photo-heavy backgrounds. The JPEG export here runs at quality 0.92, near visually lossless.
Can I edit the same banner later if I want to update the text?
The tool does not save your design between sessions — close the tab and the layers are gone. Either keep the tab open while you iterate, or take screenshots of your settings. For repeated edits, save a working PNG and re-upload as the background next time.
