What is Fasting Timer?

Fasting Timer tracks intermittent fasting windows with countdown timers for popular protocols including 12:12, 14:10, 16:8, 18:6, 20:4, and OMAD. See elapsed and remaining time at a glance, watch which metabolic phase you're in, and learn when your fast will end.

The timer ships with six named protocols (12:12, 14:10, 16:8, 18:6, 20:4, and OMAD) plus a custom slider for anything from 1 to 22 hours. Forgot to hit start? Backdate the start time so the count is accurate. While a fast runs you see the current metabolic phase (fed, digesting, fat burning, ketosis, deep ketosis) and the exact clock time the fast will end. An active fast survives a page refresh, so closing the tab by accident won't wipe your progress. When you end a fast you can log how it felt on a quick 1-5 scale, and every completed fast goes into a local history list you can review at any time.

How to use

  1. Pick a fasting protocol (12:12, 14:10, 16:8, 18:6, 20:4, OMAD, or a custom length) and tap start when you begin your fast.
  2. Watch the countdown timer and progress ring show how far along you are in your fasting window.
  3. End your fast manually or let the timer complete, then review your fasting history.

When to use

  • Running a daily 16:8 routine and wanting one persistent timer instead of phone alarms.
  • Trying a longer 20:4 or OMAD-style schedule and tracking how long you actually held it.
  • Doing a one-off 24-hour fast and needing the countdown visible without installing an app.

Result

Start a 16:8 fast at 8pm after dinner. The timer counts down 16 hours, showing you can eat again at 12pm noon the next day.

FAQ

Will the timer keep running if I close the tab or restart my computer?
Yes. The start timestamp is saved locally, so the elapsed time is calculated fresh every time you open the page. Closing the tab, refreshing, or rebooting won't reset the fast.
Which fasting protocol should a beginner pick?
16:8 is the usual starting point — skip breakfast, eat between noon and 8pm. It's the easiest to fit around real life and the one with the most clinical research behind it. Move to 18:6 only once 16:8 feels effortless.
Does the timer count from my last meal or from when I press start?
From when you press start. Press it when you finish your last meal or beverage with calories. Water, plain coffee, and plain tea are normally considered fast-compatible, but check with your own dietary plan.
Can I edit a fast after I end it?
A finished entry can't be edited afterwards, but you don't have to log it blind. If you forgot to hit start, set a custom start time before you begin and the count picks up from there. The logged duration always reflects the actual interval the timer measured between start and the moment you ended.
Is intermittent fasting safe for everyone?
No. Pregnant or breastfeeding people, anyone with a history of disordered eating, type 1 diabetics on insulin, and under-18s should talk to a doctor before fasting. The timer is a tool, not medical advice.
