What is Grocery List?

Build an organized shopping list fast, with items grouped by category as you add them. Everything sorts into store sections — produce, dairy, meat, pantry — so you shop in one pass instead of doubling back through the aisles.

Items get tagged into eleven aisle categories (Produce, Dairy, Meat, Bakery, Pantry, Frozen, Beverages, Snacks, Household, Personal Care, Other) and grouped automatically. Per-item quantity and unit price are optional, and a running total updates with each entry. Save a finished list as a named template to reuse next shop, then export it as text or PDF for sharing or printing. Everything stays on your device.

How to use

  1. Step 1 — Type an item name; the aisle is auto-detected from the text (you can override it with the category dropdown: Produce, Dairy, Meat, Bakery, Pantry, Frozen, Beverages, Snacks, Household, Personal Care, or Other).
  2. Step 2 — Add quantity and tap Add. Items appear grouped by category for efficient shopping.
  3. Step 3 — Check off items as you shop. Use the Clear Checked button to remove purchased items, or Export to share your list.

When to use

  • Building a weekly shop without forgetting items hiding in the back of the fridge.
  • Keeping a running total of estimated cost before you reach the checkout.
  • Splitting a meal-prep haul across produce, pantry, and frozen sections so you walk the store once.

Result

Planning a pasta dinner: add 'Spaghetti' (Pantry), 'Ground Beef' (Meat), 'Marinara Sauce' (Pantry), 'Parmesan' (Dairy), and 'Garlic Bread' (Bakery). The list auto-groups them by aisle.

FAQ

Does the list stay if I close the tab or restart my computer?
Yes. The list saves to local storage on your device, so closing the tab, restarting your computer, or reopening this page later won't wipe it. Clearing site data or using private mode will reset it.
Can I share the list with someone else?
Use the export button to copy the grouped list as plain text or download it as a .txt file. Paste it into a chat, email, or notes app. The recipient sees the same category groupings and per-item prices.
How does the total handle quantity and unit price?
Each line multiplies its unit price by its quantity. Two items at 2.50 each show 5.00 on that line. The total at the top is the sum of all unchecked items, so as you tick things off the remaining cost updates in real time.
How many categories are there?
Eleven aisle categories that mirror how a typical supermarket is laid out, so the printed order matches the route you walk: Produce, Dairy, Meat, Bakery, Pantry, Frozen, Beverages, Snacks, Household, and Personal Care, plus an Other catch-all. Cleaning supplies and toiletries now have their own aisles instead of landing in Other.
Can I track prices in a currency other than dollars?
Yes. The currency selector switches the symbol used everywhere on the list (euro, pound, yen, peso, riyal and others). It's display only — no exchange rates are applied, so enter prices in the units you actually pay.
