What is Habit Tracker?

Habit Tracker tracks your daily habits and shows streak counts so you know what's sticking. Check off each day, see your completion history, and spot where you're consistent or slipping.

Each habit gets a color, an icon, and a calendar grid. Toggle squares in the week, month, or full-year heatmap view to mark a day complete. Current streak and longest streak compute automatically from the date list, and the whole tracker exports to CSV so you can analyse longer trends in a spreadsheet. You can also log a daily mood to see how it lines up with your streaks, and start a built-in focus timer on any timed habit like meditation or reading.

How to use

  1. Step 1 — Create a new habit by entering a name and optionally choosing a color or icon to distinguish it.
  2. Step 2 — Each day, tap the checkbox next to each habit you completed. The streak counter updates automatically.
  3. Step 3 — Review your weekly or monthly grid to see consistency patterns. Longest streak and current streak are always visible.

When to use

  • Building a single new habit (cold showers, daily walk, no phone before 9 a.m.) over the first 30 days.
  • Spotting which habits in a stack are sticking and which keep slipping after a couple of weeks.
  • Rebuilding momentum after a long break by watching a fresh streak grow from zero.

Result

Track 'Morning Run', 'Read 30 min', and 'Drink 8 glasses of water'. After two weeks, you see Morning Run has a 12-day streak while Reading needs more consistency with only 6 of 14 days completed.

FAQ

What counts as a streak break — does missing one day reset everything?
Yes, a single uncomplete day breaks the current streak. The longest-streak counter remembers your best run, so you don't lose history. Some people prefer a 'don't break the chain twice' rule mentally — that's outside the tool, just a personal heuristic.
Can I track a habit that only happens a few times a week?
The tool tracks per-day completion, so habits like 'gym 3x/week' end up with intentional gaps. Look at the completion rate over a week or month instead of streak length. Streak counters work best for daily habits.
Where is the data stored, and what happens on a new device?
Everything saves to local storage on the current device. To move to a new phone or laptop, use the Backup button to download a JSON file, then open the tool there and use Import to restore every habit, note, and mood entry exactly. (The CSV export is for spreadsheets and is one-way — Backup is the round-trip format.)
Why include an icon and color per habit?
When you have five or six habits running together, the row glances faster when each one has a visual anchor — a green water-drop for hydration, an orange book for reading. It also helps when you scan a printed export and need to find a row quickly.
Can I retroactively mark a day I forgot to log?
Yes. Click any square in the week or month grid (past, present, or empty) to toggle that day. Re-clicking removes it. This is useful if you actually did the habit but forgot to open the tracker before bed.
