What is Image Merger?
Image Merger combines two or more images into a single output. Stack them side-by-side, top-to-bottom, or arrange them in a grid for comparison shots, before-and-after pairs, photo strips, or quick collages.
Reorder pictures by dragging the thumbnails, set the spacing in pixels, pick a background colour for the gaps, and decide whether photos of different sizes keep their original dimensions or stretch to match. The preview updates the moment you change a setting, so there is no Merge step to remember, and you can save the result as PNG, JPEG with adjustable quality, or WebP. Everything runs locally on your device, nothing uploads anywhere.
How to use
- Upload two or more images using the file picker or drag-and-drop area
- Pick the layout (horizontal strip, vertical stack, or grid with 2 to 5 columns) and adjust spacing, background colour, alignment, and resize options
- Choose the output format (PNG, JPEG, or WebP) and save the file once the live preview looks right
When to use
- Building a single before-and-after image for a blog post or product listing.
- Stitching screenshots into one vertical image for a tutorial or bug report.
- Making a quick photo strip from event pictures to share on social media.
Result
A product reviewer uploads a before and after photo of a restored vintage watch, picks horizontal merge with 10 px white spacing, watches the preview update in real time, and saves it as a 70-percent-quality JPEG that is small enough to attach to a blog post.
FAQ
- Why do my merged images come out at different heights or widths?
- Set Resize Mode to Stretch to Fit and the tool will rescale each image so the shared edge matches. Keep Original Size preserves the source dimensions, which means the alignment setting (start, center, end) decides where the gaps fall.
- How many images can I merge at once?
- There is no hard cap, but very large canvases (over ~16,000 px on a side) can fail on mobile browsers because of memory limits. For long screenshot stacks, merge in batches of 8 to 10 and combine the results.
- Is the spacing colour limited to white?
- No. The Background Color picker accepts any hex value, so you can match a brand palette, use black for cinematic comparisons, or pick a transparent-looking neutral that blends into your page.
- Can I export the result as JPEG or WebP instead of PNG?
- Yes. The Output Format toggle lets you pick PNG (lossless, larger), JPEG (smaller, great for photos, adjustable quality), or WebP (smallest, best for the web). A quality slider appears for JPEG and WebP so you can dial in the file size.
- Are my pictures uploaded to a server?
- No. The merge runs on a hidden HTML canvas inside this page, so the photos never leave your device. Closing the tab clears everything from memory.
