What is Note-Taking App?
A distraction-free note-taking app with rich text formatting. Create, organize, and search notes with bold, italic, headings, lists, and code blocks. Notes are saved privately on your device, with no account or sign-in.
Notes are saved privately on your device and stay only on the device that created them. The editor supports headings, bold, italic, ordered and bullet lists, code blocks, and link insertion. You can pin notes to the top, sort by last edited, search across titles and body, and export any note as Markdown for use elsewhere.
How to use
- Click 'New Note' to create a note. Type your content using the formatting toolbar for headings, bold, italic, lists, and code blocks.
- Organize notes by pinning important ones to the top. Use the search bar to quickly find notes by title or content.
- Export notes as Markdown, plain text, or PDF files. All notes auto-save privately on your device — no account required.
When to use
- Jotting meeting notes and action items without opening a heavyweight app.
- Drafting a blog post or email reply where Markdown export saves a step later.
- Keeping a running scratchpad for code snippets, passwords-to-rotate, or daily todos.
Result
Create a meeting notes document: add a 'Team Standup — March 23' heading, use bullet lists for action items, bold the owners' names, and pin the note. Later, search 'standup' to find it instantly.
FAQ
- Where are my notes saved?
- Privately on your device only. Nothing is uploaded, and there is no account or sync. Use the export-to-Markdown button if you want a copy on disk or to move notes to another machine.
- Will my notes survive clearing my site data?
- Clearing this site's saved data wipes the notes with it, so export anything important first. Clearing only your history or cached files keeps the notes intact.
- Is there a limit on how many notes I can keep?
- Your device keeps roughly 5-10 MB of private storage for this tool, which fits thousands of typical text notes. Pasting large base64 images is what fills that space fastest, so keep media as links to disk files instead.
- Can I sync notes across phone and laptop?
- Not directly, because there is no cloud account. The practical workaround is to export a note as Markdown, drop it into a cloud folder you already use (Drive, Dropbox, iCloud), and re-import on the other device.
- Does pinning a note do anything beyond moving it to the top?
- Pinned notes are sorted above unpinned ones and ignore the last-edited order, so they stay in place even when you open them. The pin status is saved with the note, so closing the tab does not reset it.
