What is PDF Rotate Pages?

PDF Rotate Pages lets you rotate individual or all pages in a PDF document by 90, 180, or 270 degrees. Use it to fix scanned documents that ended up sideways or upside down. Processing happens entirely on your device.

The tool renders a thumbnail of every page using pdf.js so you can see exactly which ones are sideways. Pick a single page, a range, or hit rotate-all. Rotations are stored in the PDF page metadata, not by re-rendering pixels, so quality is identical to the original and the file size barely changes.

How to use

  1. Upload a PDF file to see a thumbnail preview of all its pages
  2. Click the rotation buttons on individual pages or use the rotate-all option
  3. Download the corrected PDF with your rotation changes applied

When to use

  • Fixing scanned receipts or contracts where every other page came out 90 degrees off.
  • Correcting a landscape spreadsheet exported into a portrait PDF.
  • Standardising orientation across a multi-page document before printing or archiving.

Result

A scanned contract has pages 3 and 7 rotated sideways. Upload the PDF, click the 90-degree clockwise button on those two pages, and download the corrected version with all pages properly oriented.

FAQ

Does rotating reduce the quality of the page?
No. Rotation is a metadata change. The page contents are not re-rendered or re-compressed. Whatever resolution and clarity the original page had is preserved exactly. The visual rotation happens at display time in any PDF viewer.
Can I rotate by 45 degrees or another arbitrary angle?
No. The PDF specification only allows rotation in 90-degree increments (0, 90, 180, 270). Arbitrary angles would require re-rasterising the page content, which is a different operation than rotation and would degrade quality.
Will rotation affect form fields, hyperlinks, or annotations on the page?
Most modern viewers re-orient form fields and annotations along with the page. Some older readers display annotations at the original orientation. If you rely on annotations being precisely placed, double-check the rotated PDF in your target viewer.
What if some pages are already rotated and some are not?
The tool reads each page's existing rotation and shows the actual current orientation in the preview. You can rotate every page individually or use rotate-all to bring everything to the same orientation in one step.
Can I rotate a password-protected PDF?
The tool opens encrypted PDFs in ignore-encryption mode, so unsigned password-flagged files can be loaded and rotated. If the PDF has owner restrictions on modification, the output may still open in viewers but might trigger a warning.
