What is Plant Watering Reminder?

Plant Watering Reminder helps you keep track of when each of your plants needs watering. Add your plants with their watering frequency, and the tool highlights which ones are due or overdue — so nothing wilts from neglect.

Each plant card stores its name, type, watering interval in days, and last watered date. The dashboard colour-codes due plants in amber and overdue ones in red so you can spot stragglers in a glance. Everything saves to your device, and you can export the schedule as CSV for backup.

How to use

  1. Add a plant by entering its name, type, and how often it needs watering (every X days).
  2. Mark a plant as watered when you water it — the next due date updates automatically.
  3. Check the dashboard daily to see which plants are due (yellow) or overdue (red) for watering.

When to use

  • Coming back from a two-week trip and unsure which plants need a soak first.
  • Managing a mixed indoor garden where succulents and ferns need very different schedules.
  • Sharing watering duty with a flatmate or family member who needs a clear checklist.

Result

You have a succulent (every 14 days), a fern (every 3 days), and basil (daily). Add all three with their schedules. The dashboard shows basil in red (overdue) and the fern in yellow (due today).

FAQ

How does the tool know when a plant is overdue?
It compares today's date with the last watered date plus the interval you set. If the gap is bigger than the interval, the card turns red. If it lands exactly on today, the card turns amber.
What watering interval should I pick for a new plant?
Start with the label on the pot or a quick search for the species. Most leafy houseplants land between 5 and 10 days; succulents and cacti stretch to 14 or 21. Adjust after a couple of cycles by checking the topsoil with a finger.
Does the reminder send push notifications?
No. The tool runs without an account or background service, so it cannot push to your phone. Bookmark the page and check it once a day, the same way you'd glance at a kitchen calendar.
Where is my plant list saved?
In your device's local storage, scoped to this site. Clearing site data wipes the list, so use the CSV export if you switch devices or reinstall the OS.
Can I track outdoor plants the same way?
Yes, but pad the interval with common sense. Rain resets the clock for outdoor pots, so press Water Now after a downpour even if you didn't lift a can yourself.
