What is Rep Counter?
Rep Counter lets you track exercise repetitions by tapping a large button each time you complete a rep. It keeps a running total per set and tracks multiple sets so you can review your full workout summary.
Pick from preset exercises (push-ups, squats, deadlifts, bench, curls and more) or type a custom name for circuit work. Set a target rep count if you want the counter to flag when you hit your goal, and an optional total-sets plan so you can see Set 2 of 3 progress as you work. A small elapsed-time badge tracks how long you've been at it. Flip on Auto-advance to log a set automatically the moment you hit target reps. When the workout's done, export a text summary or a PDF with a per-set bar chart for your training log.
How to use
- Step 1 — Select your exercise name or type a custom one, then tap the large counter button for each rep.
- Step 2 — When your set is complete, press End Set to log the rep count and start a new set.
- Step 3 — Review your workout summary showing sets, reps per set, and total reps across all sets.
When to use
- Tracking AMRAP (as many reps as possible) sets where set numbers move week to week.
- Counting bodyweight chains in calisthenics circuits where focus matters more than form-checking a watch.
- Logging sets at the gym when bringing a notebook is awkward and you need both hands free.
Result
During a push-up workout, a user taps 15 reps for set 1, 12 for set 2, and 10 for set 3. The summary shows 3 sets with 37 total reps.
FAQ
- Why a giant tap button instead of voice counting or motion detection?
- A large target is the most reliable input mid-set when your hands are sweaty or you're breathing hard. Voice counting fails in noisy gyms and motion detection misses the back half of slow reps. Tap is unsexy but doesn't lie.
- What happens to my reps if I refresh the page?
- The current workout clears on refresh because it isn't saved between sessions. Export to text or PDF when you finish a workout. Hitting refresh by mistake mid-session is the main risk to watch for.
- Can I track different exercises in the same workout?
- Yes. Each time you end a set you can switch to a different preset or type a custom exercise name, then keep counting. The summary lists every set with its exercise label intact for review.
- Does the target reps field stop me from counting past it?
- Not by default — target is just a visual marker so you can keep tapping past it for bonus reps. Flip on the Auto-advance toggle if you'd rather have the set logged the moment you hit your goal. The PDF bar chart still shows your target line against actual reps either way.
- Why use this instead of a fitness watch?
- Watches with rep detection still miss roughly 5–15% of reps and confuse similar movements. A manual tapper is fine for any bodyweight, dumbbell or unusual movement, and works without pairing or a phone app.
