What is Time Tracker?

The Time Tracker lets you log hours against specific tasks or projects so you know exactly where your time goes. Start and stop a running clock, add manual entries, and review daily or weekly summaries — all saved locally.

Entries are stored locally on your device, so the data stays with you — even after closing the tab. Tag work by project name plus an optional task, see today's per-project totals, and add manual entries for time spent away from the screen. The CSV export includes both a per-project summary and a detailed entry log for invoicing or analysis.

How to use

  1. Create a project or task name, then tap Start to begin the timer.
  2. Tap Stop when you finish — the elapsed time is logged automatically.
  3. Review your time log, filter by project, and export a summary for your records.

When to use

  • Logging billable hours for freelance or consulting work to invoice clients.
  • Splitting a freelancer's day between two clients without juggling two apps.
  • Auditing where the week actually went when projects keep running over budget.

Result

Freelancer tracking billable hours: 2 h 15 min on 'Logo Design', 45 min on 'Client Call', and 3 h on 'Website Mockup' — total 6 h billed for the day.

FAQ

Does my time data sync between devices?
No. Entries are saved privately on this device, so opening the tool on your phone won't show entries you logged on your laptop. Use the free CSV export if you need to move data between machines or back it up.
What happens if I forget to stop the timer overnight?
The clock keeps running and you'll come back to a 14-hour entry. Just stop it as normal, then delete the wrong entry and use Manual Entry to log the real duration with the correct start and end times.
Can I track multiple timers at once?
Only one timer can run at a time, which mirrors how most billing systems handle context-switching. If you need parallel timers (e.g. background process + active work), log the second one as a manual entry once it ends.
What does the CSV export include?
Two sections: a per-project total summary at the top, then a row for every entry with project, task, your notes, ISO start and end timestamps, duration as HH:MM:SS, and duration in milliseconds. The file is UTF-8 with a BOM so Excel opens it cleanly. If you set an hourly rate, an Earnings column is added so each row and the totals show the amount billed.
Will clearing site data on this device delete my timesheet?
Yes. Because entries are kept privately on this device, clearing site data wipes them along with cookies and cache. Export the free CSV at the end of every day or week as a backup, especially before software updates or when switching machines.
