What is Yoga Pose Timer?
Yoga Pose Timer holds each pose for a set time and plays audio and visual cues so you know when to switch. Set your own hold times for every pose in a sequence, and the timer counts you through the transitions while you keep your eyes closed.
Pick from a library of 18 poses (Downward Dog, Warrior I/II/III, Pigeon, Bridge, Boat, Corpse and more), drag them into a sequence, and set hold times per pose. Defaults are tuned so demanding poses get shorter holds and restorative ones go longer. Audio cues mark each transition, so you can keep your eyes closed and stay with your breath.
How to use
- Select a pose from the library or create a custom sequence with your preferred poses and hold durations.
- Set the hold time for each pose (e.g., 30 seconds for Warrior II, 60 seconds for Pigeon Pose).
- Press Start to begin — the timer counts down each pose with audio cues for transitions between poses.
When to use
- Building a 10-minute morning mobility flow you can repeat every day.
- Holding long Yin-style stretches without breaking focus to check the clock.
- Following a teacher's printed sequence by translating each pose to a tile.
Result
Morning stretch sequence: 45s Downward Dog → 30s Warrior I (each side) → 60s Pigeon Pose (each side) → 45s Child's Pose. Total session: 5 minutes 30 seconds.
FAQ
- Will my sequence stick around if I come back tomorrow?
- Yes — your sequence saves automatically on this device and reloads next time you open the page. Clearing site data wipes it, and the saved copy is per-device (it won't sync across phones). A small saved indicator above the list confirms the current sequence is stored.
- What happens at the transition between poses — a sound, a vibration?
- A short audio cue plays at each pose change, so closed-eye practice still works. There is no haptic vibration. If you train with headphones the cue is loud enough at normal volume to break a meditative pause.
- Which poses are in the library by default?
- Eighteen standard poses: Mountain, Downward Dog, the three Warrior variations, Tree, Chair, Triangle, Child's, Cobra, Pigeon, Bridge, Plank, Cat-Cow, Seated Forward Bend, Corpse, Half Moon, and Boat. Default holds range from 20 s (Warrior III, Half Moon, Boat) up to 60 s (Pigeon, Corpse).
- I want to hold a pose longer than the default — can I change it?
- Yes. After adding a pose to the sequence you can edit the duration on its tile. For Yin practice 90 to 180 seconds is common; for vinyasa style 5 to 15 seconds keeps the flow brisk.
- Does the timer pause if I get a phone call mid-session?
- There's a manual pause button you can hit when you take a call. The timer doesn't detect calls automatically, so set the phone to Do Not Disturb beforehand if you want a clean session.
