The 1080 by 1920 preset matches a standard portrait screen. Newer phones are taller, so the system may crop a strip off the top and bottom: keep captions away from the outer edges and nothing important gets lost.

One photo is covering another. Can I change which one sits on top?

Select the item and send it to the back, or bring it forward. Order is tracked per item rather than per layer group, so putting a caption chip over a photo is just a matter of selecting the chip and bringing it to the front.
