What is Image to Sticker?

Turn any image into a sticker by removing the background and wrapping the cut-out in a thick colored outline. Upload a photo, tune the border thickness, edge padding and color, then download the result as a transparent PNG, WebP or JPEG.

Two stages: first the background is removed using a flood-fill keyed to the background color (auto-detected from the corners, or click-picked manually), then a thick outline in any color you choose is drawn around the cut-out — the look every messaging app's sticker pack has. Edge threshold tunes how aggressively the background color is matched, border thickness goes from 2 px (subtle) to 20 px (chunky), and edge padding (0–40 px) adds breathing room so the outline never clips at the canvas edge. Drop a soft colored shadow behind the silhouette for extra depth. Download as a transparent PNG (universal), a transparent WebP (smaller for messaging apps) or a JPEG with a white background (for platforms that reject PNG uploads).

How to use

  1. Step 1 — Upload a photo with a clear subject. The tool automatically detects the background colour and cuts the subject out.
  2. Step 2 — Pick a border color, set the border thickness (2–20 px), add edge padding so the outline has room to breathe, and turn on a colored drop shadow if you want extra depth.
  3. Step 3 — Name the file, choose PNG, WebP or JPEG, then download the sticker ready for WhatsApp, Telegram, iMessage or print-and-cut.

When to use

  • Turning a pet or family photo into a WhatsApp or Telegram sticker pack.
  • Cutting your logo out of its background to add to email signatures or merch mockups.
  • Making print-and-cut sticker sheets for a planner, journal or shop packaging.

Result

Upload a photo of your pet, set the border thickness to 8 px and pick a rose-pink color. Add a touch of padding so the outline has room to breathe, then download as a transparent PNG ready to drop into a WhatsApp sticker pack.

FAQ

What kind of photos work best as stickers?
Photos with one clear subject and a solid, contrasting background give the cleanest cutout. A pet on a plain wall, a product on white seamless paper, a person against the sky — all great. Busy backgrounds need the manual colour picker to nail down the right reference pixel.
Does the output have a transparent background?
PNG and WebP downloads keep full alpha transparency outside the colored border, so they drop cleanly into WhatsApp, Telegram, iMessage and any tool that respects the alpha channel. JPEG has no alpha — choose it only when the destination requires it, and the tool will flatten the background to white on download.
What if the auto-detection misses part of the subject?
Click the colour picker button and choose a background pixel yourself. The tool then floods from that exact colour using your threshold. Increase the threshold for backgrounds with slight gradients; decrease it when the subject shares colour tones with the background.
Can I sticker-fy a photo with shadows or transparency around the subject?
Soft shadows are tricky — the tool sees them as a midpoint between subject and background, so they may end up half-removed. For best results, pick a background point near the shadow and bump the threshold up a notch so the shadow gets included in the removed region.
What sticker pack size does Telegram or WhatsApp expect?
WhatsApp wants 512×512 PNGs under 100 KB per sticker; Telegram wants up to 512 px on the longest side. Pick an output size — Small (400 px), Medium (800 px) or Large (1600 px) — to match where the sticker is going; Small is the closest fit for a 512 px pack, while Large suits print-and-cut sheets. The tool only scales down, never up, so start from a photo at least as big as the size you choose.
