What is Invoice Generator?
Invoice Generator helps freelancers and small businesses put together professional invoices. Fill in your business details, add line items with quantities and rates, apply taxes and discounts, and export a finished invoice. Everything runs locally — your financial data stays private.
Pick from Classic, Modern, or Minimal templates, then set an accent colour to match your brand. Currencies include USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, AUD, JPY, INR, BRL and more, with the symbol auto-applied to every line. The PDF generator builds a print-ready A4 document with your business address, client details, line items, totals, notes, and payment terms in one click.
How to use
- Step 1 — Enter your business name, address, and logo, then fill in the client's billing details and set the invoice number and date.
- Step 2 — Add line items with descriptions, quantities, and unit prices. Optionally apply tax rates and discounts. The total updates automatically.
- Step 3 — Preview the invoice layout, then download it as a PDF or print it directly from your browser.

FAQ
- Is this invoice legally valid for tax purposes?
- The PDF contains every field that most tax authorities require: issuer details, client details, invoice number, date, line items, taxes, and totals. Check your local rules for any extra fields like a VAT or GST number, then add them in the Notes section.
- How do I add VAT or GST instead of plain sales tax?
- Set the tax rate in the Tax Rate field (e.g. 20 for UK VAT, 18 for India GST). The amount is calculated on the subtotal after any discount. To label it as VAT or GST in the PDF, add a line in the Notes field explaining the tax type and your VAT/GST number.
- Can I save the invoice and edit it later?
- The page does not store data after you close the tab. To revise an invoice, download the PDF as a record, then re-open the tool and re-enter the details. For recurring clients, keeping a saved template in a note-taking app speeds this up.
- Why is my invoice number important?
- Tax authorities expect invoice numbers to follow a consistent, gap-free sequence so they can audit your records. Pick a format like INV-2026-001 and increment from there. Avoid restarting from 1 every year unless your country specifically allows it.
- How do I add my company logo to the invoice?
- Click the Company Logo field and select a PNG or JPG. The logo appears at the top of every template at a fixed height to keep proportions consistent. Square or wide logos render best, very tall logos get cropped at the layout level.
