What is Passport Photo Maker?
Create compliant passport and ID photos from any portrait. Select your country's photo requirements, position the crop area over the face, and get properly sized photos with the correct background. Download print-ready sheets with multiple copies arranged on standard paper sizes.
The tool ships with twenty-eight country presets — US passport at 2×2 in, UK and Schengen at 35×45 mm, Canada at 50×70 mm, China at 33×48 mm, India at 51×51 mm, France, Italy, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Egypt, Turkey, Pakistan, Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Nigeria and more — plus CV and social formats like a 400×400 LinkedIn avatar, a square headshot, and a 3×4 résumé photo. It crops your image to the exact dimensions each one needs. Set the background to white, light blue, grey, beige, or any custom colour, fine-tune brightness, contrast, and saturation, then download a single photo or a 4×6 / A5 / A4 print sheet as a PNG or JPEG, packed with as many copies as fit.
How to use
- Upload a front-facing portrait photo. Select the document type and country for the correct size requirements (e.g., US Passport 2×2 inches, EU ID 35×45mm).
- Position the crop area over the face. The tool shows guidelines for head placement and ensures proper proportions.
- Choose a background colour (white, light blue, grey, beige, or a custom shade), preview the result, then download a single photo or a print sheet of copies — as a PNG or a JPEG — on 4×6, A5, or A4 paper.
When to use
- Renewing a US, UK, Canadian, or Schengen passport without paying a photo studio.
- Producing visa photos for an embassy application that lists exact size requirements.
- Generating ID photos for a school, employee badge, or driver's licence renewal.
Result
Upload a selfie, select 'US Passport (2×2 in)', align the face within the guidelines, set a white background, and download a 4×6 print sheet with 6 passport photos ready to cut.
FAQ
- Do my photos at home meet official passport requirements?
- The size and background will be correct. Lighting, expression, and head position are on you: a plain wall, even daylight, neutral face, no glasses, eyes open and centred. Government rejection rates drop a lot when the photo is clearly sharp and the background is uniform.
- Which countries are supported out of the box?
- Twenty-eight presets ship out of the box, covering the United States, the European Union (passport and ID), the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, India, China, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Brazil, South Korea, Russia, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Mexico, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Turkey, Pakistan, Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Nigeria, and a Schengen visa preset. Each one uses the official size and aspect ratio. If your country isn't listed, pick a preset with matching dimensions and the proportions will still be accurate.
- Can I change the background colour?
- Yes — pick white, light blue, light grey, or beige from the presets, or set any colour with the custom picker. Several country specs ask for grey or beige rather than white. The background colour fills the area around your portrait, so a plain backdrop in your original shot still gives the cleanest edge.
- How many copies fit on a 4×6 print sheet?
- For 2×2 in (51×51 mm) US-style photos you get 6 copies on a 4×6 inch sheet, laid out 2 across and 3 down. For 35×45 mm EU photos you also fit 6. Switch to A5 or A4 for many more. The sheet count updates automatically when you pick a preset.
- Should I print at home or at a photo lab?
- Most embassies accept lab prints with no issues. Home inkjets vary — for passports use glossy photo paper at the printer's highest quality, and check whether your country requires a date or studio stamp on the back (some do).
