What is Photo Frame Adder?
Photo Frame Adder puts decorative frames and borders around your images. Choose from classic, modern, polaroid, film strip, and other styles to finish your photos before sharing.
Twelve frame styles are available: classic, modern, polaroid, shadow, rounded, film strip, wood, vintage, neon, double border, instant camera, and scallop. Border width is adjustable from a few pixels to a thick mat, and the border itself can use solid colour, a gradient, noise grain, or a linen weave texture. Nine aspect ratio presets crop the photo to 1:1, 4:5, 16:9, 9:16, 4:3, 3:4, 3:2, or 2:3, and a corner-radius slider softens the outer edges of classic and modern frames. Add an optional caption underneath polaroid-style frames and download the framed image as PNG or JPEG.
How to use
- Upload a photo — it renders on the canvas with the default frame style.
- Select a frame style from the gallery: classic, modern, polaroid, shadow, rounded, or film strip.
- Customize frame color, thickness, and corner rounding, then download your framed image as PNG or JPEG.
When to use
- Producing a Polaroid-style print for a memory wall or scrapbook page with handwritten caption underneath.
- Putting a white mat border around a photo before sending it to an online print-on-canvas service.
- Dressing up product or pet shots for Etsy listings with a neon or wood frame that matches the brand.

FAQ
- Does the frame include extra empty space or is it drawn over the photo?
- Solid, wood, vintage, and gradient styles extend the canvas outward — your photo stays full-bleed and the border adds new pixels around it. Shadow, rounded, and neon styles draw a glow inside the canvas without expanding it. Polaroid and instant styles add a thicker bottom strip for caption space.
- What does the noise or linen texture actually do to the border?
- Noise overlays a fine procedural grain on the border colour, mimicking paper or matte print stock. Linen draws a subtle woven cross-hatch, similar to fabric-wrapped photo albums. Both keep the chosen colour as the base but add micro-texture so the border doesn't look flat at print size.
- How wide should the border be for a 1080×1080 Instagram post?
- Around 40–60 px reads cleanly on phone screens at that resolution. Wider borders (80+) work for art-print mood; thinner (10–20) for subtle separation. The slider shows the live preview at the photo's real size, so eyeball it against your subject.
- Can I add a caption like a real polaroid?
- Yes. The Caption field appears for any style and renders the text inside the bottom border strip on polaroid and instant frames. For other styles the caption sits below the image on the extra border area. Caption colour is independently adjustable.
- Why do some styles look the same regardless of border width?
- Neon, shadow, and film strip are stylised effects with their own internal proportions — the slider still tweaks the look, but those styles cap or override extreme values to keep the result balanced. For pure border-width control, use classic or modern.
