What is PNG to JPG Converter?

PNG to JPG Converter lets you transform PNG images into JPG format without uploading your files anywhere. JPG files are smaller and work almost everywhere, so they fit email attachments and social posts better. Your images are processed entirely on your device.

Conversion happens on your device with a canvas redraw, so the file never leaves your machine. Transparent pixels are flattened over a background color you pick — white by default, but anything you want via the color picker. The quality slider runs from 10 to 100, the before-and-after preview lets you spot compression artifacts, and a one-click ZIP download bundles every converted file when you batch a folder.

How to use

  1. Step 1 — Drop or select one or more images (PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF, or BMP) from your device.
  2. Step 2 — Adjust the quality slider, then pick a background color to fill any transparent pixels.
  3. Step 3 — Click Convert and download each resulting JPG file.

When to use

  • Shrinking screenshots before attaching them to an email that has a size cap.
  • Preparing photos for an e-commerce listing that rejects PNG uploads.
  • Batch-converting a folder of camera exports to reclaim disk space.

FAQ

Why does my PNG with a transparent background turn white after conversion?
JPG has no alpha channel, so transparent pixels are flattened onto a solid background during export. You choose that background color in the picker below the quality slider — white is the default, but pick black, a brand color, or anything else if it suits the image better.
What quality setting should I pick?
For photographs, 80 to 90 looks visually identical to the source while cutting size by 60 to 80 percent. For screenshots with sharp text, stay above 90 or text edges will get fuzzy around the letters.
How big a file can I convert?
There is no fixed cap, but browsers struggle past roughly 8000 by 8000 pixels because the canvas memory needed scales with width times height times four bytes. A 20 MB phone photo converts in under a second on most laptops.
Are my images uploaded anywhere?
No. The conversion runs entirely on your device through a hidden canvas. Files never touch any server, which is why the tool keeps working with the network unplugged.
Can I convert several PNGs at once?
Yes. Drop or pick multiple files and they line up in a queue. Each one converts with the same quality and background settings, and you can download them individually or grab everything in a single ZIP file once the queue finishes.
