What is Certificate Designer?
Certificate Designer builds print-ready certificates for courses, awards, and events. Pick a template, fill in the recipient name, title, body text, date, and signature, then export a high-quality PDF for printing or sharing.
Eight base templates (Achievement, Completion, Appreciation, Honor, Participation, Training, Excellence, and Employee of the Month) come with editable body text in formal certificate language. Pick portrait or landscape orientation, swap the border style between classic, modern, elegant, or minimal, set primary, accent, and background colours, upload a logo, drop in a custom background image (parchment, school photo, branded graphic), and add a signature line plus organisation name — with an optional second signer for dual-authority certificates. Export individually at print resolution as PDF, PNG, or JPG, or generate certificates for a whole list of recipients at once with batch mode.
How to use
- Select a certificate template and enter the recipient's name, achievement title, and date.
- Customize the body text, border style, colors, and add a signature or organization name.
- Preview your certificate and download it as a PDF for printing or sharing.
When to use
- Issuing course completion certificates to a bootcamp or online class cohort.
- Recognising volunteers at a community event with a printed appreciation certificate.
- Creating quick employee-of-the-month or attendance awards without ordering custom prints.
Result
A coding bootcamp instructor creates a 'Course Completion' certificate for 25 graduates, customizing each with the student's name and the course title 'Full-Stack Web Development 2026'.
FAQ
- Will the certificate look the same when printed as on screen?
- Yes — the PDF export is vector-based, so the layout, fonts, and border remain crisp at any print size. For best results use A4 or US Letter paper at 100% scale and disable any browser zoom in the print dialog.
- Can I add my own logo or seal to the certificate?
- Yes. Use the Logo (optional) control to upload a PNG, JPG, SVG, WebP, or GIF — it renders centered above the title in both the live preview and the exported PDF or PNG. The Remove button next to the upload clears it again if you change your mind.
- How do I generate certificates for a list of 50 people?
- Switch on Batch generation under the export buttons, paste one name per line, and pick Download ZIP (PDF or PNG). Every other field — template, body text, signature, logo, colors — stays locked across the batch so only the recipient name changes. The download is a single ZIP archive with one file per name.
- Which orientation should I pick — landscape or portrait?
- Landscape is the traditional certificate format and reads better on a wall. Portrait works for digital sharing on LinkedIn or in PDF portfolios where most viewers scroll vertically. The body text reflows automatically.
- What font is used and can I change it?
- Pick from six font styles under Font Style: Serif, Sans, Elegant Serif, Modern Sans, Script, and Mono. Each one swaps the certificate body and title together so the layout stays balanced. For tamper-evident issuance, the Verification section also lets you print a scannable QR code or a unique ID below the signature.
