What is Comic Strip Creator?
Design multi-panel comic strips with 2-panel, 3-panel, or 4-panel grid layouts. Add images, speech bubbles, captions, and text effects to each panel, then export the finished comic as a PNG, JPEG, or print-ready PDF.
Each panel is a separate workspace where you can drop in a photo or drawing, drag bubbles into position, type dialogue, and adjust font size. Speech bubbles get the classic pointed tail, thought bubbles the cloudy outline, shout bubbles a jagged spiky edge for loud lines, and whisper bubbles a soft dashed border. Captions sit at the top or bottom of the panel. The final strip exports as a single high-resolution PNG, a smaller JPEG for sharing, or a print-ready PDF for Instagram, a zine, or a school newsletter.
How to use
- Choose a panel layout (2-panel horizontal, 3-panel strip, 4-panel grid, or custom) to set up your comic structure.
- Add content to each panel — upload images or draw backgrounds, then add speech bubbles, thought clouds, captions, and onomatopoeia text effects.
- Customize colors, fonts, and bubble styles, then export your finished comic strip as a high-resolution PNG, a JPEG, or a print-ready PDF.
When to use
- Turning a screenshot conversation into a shareable joke on social media.
- Building a four-panel character sketch for a webcomic before drawing the final art.
- Making a quick visual storyboard for a class project or pitch deck.
Result
You're making a quick comic for social media. Choose a 3-panel strip layout, upload character photos, add speech bubbles with dialogue, and export a shareable comic strip in seconds.
FAQ
- What image formats can I upload for the panels?
- Any common image format works — PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF (first frame only), and SVG. The tool reads the file locally and scales it to fit the panel, so a 4000-pixel-wide photo works the same as a small icon.
- Can I change the order of panels after I add them?
- Pick the panel you want to edit from the panel switcher and update its image or text. There is no drag-to-reorder yet, but you can swap panel content freely, and the Duplicate Panel button clones a panel (image, bubbles, captions, and all) into the next slot — handy for repeated dialogue scenes.
- Why does my exported PNG look blurry?
- Usually because the source photo is low resolution. The canvas exports at the panel size you see on screen; if you upload a 200px image and then scale it up, the export inherits that pixelation. Use the highest-resolution source you have.
- How do I add sound effects like POW or BAM?
- Click Sound Effect on the panel you want to dramatise. You get a jagged-edge starburst with bold outlined text — type POW, ZAP, BAM, or anything up to a dozen characters. Each effect has its own size, rotation, fill, and outline colour, so you can stack a tiny WHAM behind a huge KAPOW for a layered hit. Position it with the X and Y sliders and tilt it with the rotation slider for that hand-drawn comic feel.
- Can other people edit the comic strip with me?
- No. The tool runs entirely on your device and nothing is saved to a server, which is what keeps it private and free. To collaborate, export the PNG and share it, or take turns editing from the same device.
