What is Signature Maker?

Draw your digital signature with a mouse or finger on the canvas. Pick a pen color and thickness, then download it as a transparent PNG for documents, emails, or forms.

The tool has two modes. In Draw, sign on the canvas with your mouse, trackpad, or a touchscreen — choose from the four preset pen colours or pick any custom shade with the color wheel, and tune the stroke width. In Type, choose from several handwriting-style fonts and adjust the size. Download in PNG with a transparent background for stacking onto contracts and forms, JPG with a white background for email signature systems that reject PNG, or SVG to scale to any size inside Word, PowerPoint, or Figma. Hit Copy to push the signature straight onto your clipboard as PNG and paste it into Slack, Gmail, or Google Docs without saving a file.

How to use

  1. Draw your signature on the canvas using your mouse, trackpad, or finger on touch devices.
  2. Adjust the pen color and stroke width using the controls below the canvas.
  3. Pick PNG, JPG, or SVG and click Download — or hit Copy to put the signature on your clipboard for pasting straight into Slack, Gmail, or Docs.

When to use

  • Signing a PDF rental contract sent over email without printing and rescanning.
  • Adding a personal handwritten sign-off to the bottom of a freelance invoice.
  • Generating a typed cursive name to embed at the foot of a marketing email template.

Result

You need to sign a PDF contract but don't have a scanner. Draw your signature on the canvas, set the pen to dark blue, download the transparent PNG, and paste it into your document editor.

FAQ

Is a signature drawn here legally binding?
In most jurisdictions, an electronic signature is valid for everyday agreements as long as both parties consent to sign electronically. For deeds, wills, or court filings, check local rules — some require a witnessed wet signature or a verified e-signature service.
Does the downloaded PNG really have a transparent background?
Yes — PNG keeps the canvas transparent so only the strokes are visible, and you can drop the file onto a coloured contract, photo, or Word document with the background showing through. JPG bakes in a white background for email-signature systems that reject transparent files, and SVG keeps the signature as crisp vector geometry that scales without pixelation.
What's the difference between the Draw mode and the Type mode?
Draw captures actual pen strokes from your input device, so the result looks like a real signature. Type renders your name in a cursive font, which is faster but looks like every other signature using the same font.
Can I sign with a stylus or Apple Pencil?
Yes. The canvas accepts any pointer event including touch and stylus input. An Apple Pencil on iPad or an active stylus on a Windows touchscreen tends to produce the smoothest, most natural-looking signature.
What pixel size should I use for the stroke width?
Around 3 pixels matches a regular pen on paper. Push it up to 12–16 for a bold marker look on letterheads and large documents, or drop to 1–2 for fine signatures that get shrunk down when pasted into the final file. The slider goes all the way to 20 if you want a heavy decorative stroke.
