What is Would You Rather?

A dilemma game where you pick between two options. Great for parties, icebreakers, or killing time — every question sparks a debate between two equally tempting (or terrible) choices.

Questions are sorted into six buckets: funny, hard, gross, deep, superpowers, and lifestyle. Filter to one bucket to set the mood — funny for an icebreaker, deep for late-night talks, hard for game night with friends. Choose Solo for a single player or Pass the phone for two-player rounds where you both pick on the same device and compare. A skip link below each question lets you bypass a dilemma without it counting toward the session. After 5, 10, or 20 rounds the tool reads your choices and labels you with a profile (Comedian, Strategist, Daredevil, Philosopher, Hero, or Dreamer).

How to use

  1. Read the two options on screen.
  2. Tap the option you'd pick.
  3. Press Next to get a new dilemma, use the category filter to focus on specific question types, or switch to Pass the phone mode to play with a friend on the same device.

When to use

  • Breaking the silence in a long car ride or road trip with friends.
  • Warm-up round at a dinner party before people loosen up properly.
  • Quick team-bonding round at the start of a virtual or in-office meeting.

Would you rather have the ability to fly but only 3 feet above the ground, or be invisible but only when nobody is looking? Pick your side and debate with friends!

FAQ

How does the profile at the end actually get calculated?
Each question belongs to one of six categories. After your session ends, the tool counts how many times you picked questions in each category — whichever category leads becomes your profile. Ties keep things light, so the labels are loose by design.
Can I lock the game to only one category, like 'deep' questions?
Yes. The category filter at the top lets you pin the pool to funny, hard, gross, deep, superpowers, or lifestyle. The questions reshuffle when you change filters, so you start a fresh round inside that single bucket.
How many questions are in the pool, and will I see the same one twice?
The pool now holds over two hundred questions per language, roughly thirty-five per category across funny, hard, gross, deep, superpowers, and lifestyle. The shuffle runs once per session, so within a single 5-, 10-, or 20-round game you won't see a repeat. Starting a new round reshuffles.
Are the questions translated, or written fresh for each language?
They're written fresh for each of the 13 supported languages, with locally relevant references where it matters. A 'gross' option in Japanese isn't the same dilemma as in Spanish — both are intentionally adapted to local taste.
Can two of us play at the same time on one phone?
Yes. Switch the mode toggle to "Pass the phone" and the round runs in two turns — Player 1 picks, then hands the device to Player 2, who picks. Each reveal shows who chose what, and the end-of-session screen adds a like-mindedness score: the share of rounds you both landed on the same option.
